Dual Sired Litter

In this breeding, I chose to use two different sires. The sire I was interested in is 9 years old, Sawyer. I decdied to try him first and then his son, Silas.  DNA testing is required.

The puppies are growing and doing great. On Saturday, 9th, they will be 4 weeks old.

I have an appointment on October 5 to have their eyes examined with a canine ophthalmologist in Birmingham.

When the puppies are 8 weeks old, I will make my first evaluation. I will decide which ones to let go to companion homes at that time and which ones to keep and grow-out more until around 12 weeks of age  I am looking for the ones that I will keep for myself to show or in my breeding program.

With all this said, nothing will be done until DNA results come back to see who the sire is or who is sire of which puppy.  Usually the results show that only one is the sire of the whole litter.

This is a process that takes patience on my part and prospective homes. I am not a big-time breeder, I do this for myself and for my enjoyment. The collies play a very big part in my life. Yes, it is hard work. I find friendships and fellowship in showing my dogs. I want to strive to do better in my breeding and to learn as much as I can.

I do not want to disappoint anyone in getting a puppy, whether by color or sex, etc.  But first of all, I need to do what I think is best for Caublestone Collies.  The next litter is always being planned.  So, be patient, if nothing is in this litter, maybe the next.
